Memories of Steel: The Last Cast – Ticket Information
The Steelworkers’ Archives is sponsoring Memories of Steel: the Last Cast, a second edition of our 20th anniversary commemoration of the last cast of iron in Bethlehem. Bethlehem’s hot end closed on November 18, 1995 with the last cast from the C furnace, ending iron and steel making at the plant.
While the majority of shops stayed open at the Bethlehem mill, the closing of the last blast furnace was a profound event for steelworkers, the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, and the entire community. This anniversary will be remembered with a panel discussion of steelworkers present on that day and actual video footage of the last cast. In addition, there will be an exhibit of photographs and memorabilia.
